While that may not be true, we do in fact make the Xerocole with a family-owned factory based in Portugal (business is good so they are currently expanding to another location in Albania -- hooray for the good guys!). Our manufacturer has decades of shoemaking experience and shares our obsession with sustainability, making them the ideal partner for our ground-breaking Xerocole collection.
While most performance footwear today is auto-assembled on a big production line, our boots are carefully stitched-together one at a time by skilled craftspeople that really know their trade. The ‘old way’ isn’t always best, but when it comes to building gear that truly performs without harming our planet, we think it is!
